The Black Forest community Foundation will hold an event to raise funds for the Log School Park construction. The event is also a forum for the community to evaluate and vote on alternative park designs. The event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. May 18 at La Foret (Inglis Hall) in Black Forest and includes a barbeque with activities for children, entertainment and a display of park design options developed from public input. The cost is $10 per plate, $5 for children 5-12, and free for under age 5. The menu will include pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers with all the fixings, hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw and chips, iced tea and lemonade.Based on community input, the foundation plans to present multiple design alternatives. For the first time, there will be an opportunity to become a “Friend of the Log School Park,î which will enable members to support the park effort and obtain discounts on park events, walkway pavers and more. For more information, contact Leif Garrison at 495-3517 or Carrie Robertson at 495-2001.
