The Black Forest Log School opened in 1922 and is one of two schools in El Paso County listed on the National Register of Historic Places.†Friends of the Log School will host an open house at the school at 6770 Shoup Road (intersection of Shoup and Black Forest roads) on Thursdays beginning June 7 and running through Aug. 9. When the 48-star flag is flying, the school is open. The door is open from noon to 3 p.m., and there is no charge.On July 19, participate in games from 1922 to 1945 that include hopscotch and marbles. Indoor games include jacks, checkers, Chinese checkers, cribbage and card games. Jeannie Kumjian and her sons, Scott and Kyle, will direct the activities.
