Local award-winning photographer Tracy Bookman has teamed up with Colorado Springs Optometrist Dr. John Rabins, who travels throughout Europe and Central America providing eye care for the poor.Bookman, a photographer for 27 years who turned professional last year, is giving away $100 gift certificates in exchange for donations of any amount to Dr. Rabins’ efforts. Bookman said 100 percent of the money will be used to support Dr. Rabins’ services.”God has blessed me incredibly in so many ways,” Dr. Rabins said. “I do this kind of work for one reason, truly, and that’s to share some of what God’s poured into my life with those less fortunate.”Bookman operates his photography business from his home, while home-schooling his children. He won first place in the professional photographer’s class at the 2005 El Paso County Fair and first place in a photography contest sponsored by Wolf Cameras. The certificates are available from Bookman, Rabins, or Abundant Life Church in Monument. For more information about the medical mission and eye-care for the world’s poor, or to find out how you can help, call Tracy Bookman at 719-749-0043.
