Local businesses, led by Arbonne, rally for TESSA

Arbonne consultant Brenda Wilkins delivered eight ìNew Beginning Bagsî to the residents of Safehouse, a transitional home for women who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse. The community is operated by TESSA, a nonprofit organization in Colorado Springs providing programs and assistance for domestic violence victims. The New Beginning Bag project encourages businesses to get involved in their community by either sponsoring the ìbagsî or contributing tax-deductible donations toward the contents of the bags. Many victims of domestic violence are brought to the Safehouse in an emergency situation. They donít have time to pack necessities like facial creams, soaps, shampoo, etc. New Beginning Bags are filled with those essential sundries and provided to the women when they enter the Safehouse. On Feb. 15, Brenda delivered New Beginning Bags to the Safehouse for the eight residents currently in the program. The ìbagsî contained 11 full-size Arbonne personal care products for the women and their babies. Each woman also received a disposable camera and a ìphoto bagî to display pictures of their ìnew beginnings.îBrenda enlisted several Falcon and Peyton businesses to help sponsor the bags. Each bag had a note in it with a list of the businesses that contributed. The note: This NEW BEGINNING BAG is a gift to you from several local business men and women. We are all very proud of you for the steps you are taking to improve your future! And the sponsors:Alpine Vision, FalconPixel Dance, Inc (Graphic Arts), FalconScott Carmack, State Farm Insurance, FalconTown and Country Preschool, FalconElements of Design, FalconCatering to You, FalconDave Beadles, State Farm Insurance, Colorado SpringsRed Rock Mortgage, Black ForestVision Home Loans, Colorado SpringsGregory Management Company (Accounting), Colorado SpringsWilson Photography, Colorado SpringsDancing Star Realty, Colorado SpringsGlen Howard International Ministries, Bethany, OklahomaTheir contributions totaled $1,370, which provided $2,000 worth of products.
