Solar Energy International is offering an introductory program on straw bale construction in September. The two-day course is designed for people who want to learn about the design considerations and variety of styles and techniques of straw bale construction. This class will have a comprehensive theory section as well as an in depth hands-on experience.The workshop is scheduled Sept. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 and Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Carbondale, Colo. Tuition for the class is $275 and $225 before Aug. 11.
