Lavender and Thyme relocates to new studio in Black Forest

By Deb Risden

Lavender and Thyme Holistic Skin Therapy and Apothecary has moved into a new space in Black Forest. Owner Marissa Young said the focus remains the same: natural, botanical-based skin care and holistic treatments.

The business now operates out of a custom-built tiny home on Young’s property and is available by appointment only. Customers can also shop online or schedule private sessions through the website, https://www.lavenderandthymeaesthetics.com.

“I feel really blessed having the location I’ve had for the last two and a half years,” Young said. “I met a lot of amazing people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise. This is Phase II of the plan.”

With her aesthetician’s license now in hand, Young has expanded her services to include microcurrent therapy, which uses a medical device to stimulate facial muscles, and manual lymphatic drainage — a technique to reduce puffiness and support skin health for conditions like acne and rosacea.

Everything in the spa is rooted in a holistic philosophy. “All of the products I use are free of hormone-disruptive chemicals and artificial fragrances,” Young said. “I focus on healing skin from the inside out — working with nutritional coaching, detox and supplementation. It’s about helping women feel beautiful naturally.”

Her daughter, a newly licensed hairstylist, and Young plan to host monthly “date night makeovers” featuring facials, makeovers and hairstyles.

New offerings include hormonal skin care education for women in pre-, peri- and post menopausal stages and sugaring, a natural alternative to waxing.

Young will host a grand opening celebration Sept. 20, from noon to 4 p.m. on her property, with live music, hamburgers, an ice cream truck, raffles and giveaways. Attendance is free, but limited. Tickets are required and available at https://LavenderandThymeGrandOpening.EventBrite.com.

Looking ahead, Young said she’s committed to continuing her holistic approach and expanding thoughtfully. “Everything I do is botanical-based,” she said. “And everything is about true healing.”
