The Dutch Nelsen Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association will commemorate the Korean War Armistice Day July 22 at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. The ceremony will be held in front of the chapterís monument in the parkís ìRing of Honorî at 300 South Union Boulevard. The Dutch Nelson Chapter in cooperation with the Korean American Society of Southern Colorado will host the event.James McGibney, Honorary Consul Emeritus to the Republic of Korea in Denver and a leading regional business leader, is the guest speaker. The Brass Quintet from the Fourth Infantry Division Band will provide music for the ceremony. The Junior ROTC detachment from Widefield High School will present the national colors. The Dutch Nelsen Chapter and the Korean American Society of Southern Colorado will place wreaths in front of the Korean monument, remembering those who served in the Korean War; those who were killed in action and those who remain missing. Among the honored guests will be representatives from the Colorado Springs City Council, El Paso County commissioners and the Korean community of Southern Colorado.
