Holy Apostles Catholic Church is hosting a chili cook-off Oct. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9, at the church at 4925 N. Carefree Circle in Colorado Springs.There is a best chili competition, with first place winning $100; second place $50 and third, $25. Bread, salad and non-alcoholic drinks are provided, and the event is free.Registration is Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 in the church foyer, or call John Bettencourt at 719-229-1177 before Oct. 5.
