Falcon High School boys’ junior varsity soccer team is kicking it, with a 4-0-1 undefeated record.”This team has a lot of heart and never gives up, even when they may be down,” said Matthew McCluan, junior varsity coach. “I am proud of their accomplishments, so far, and look forward to seeing what they can do in the future.”Jeffrey Dunn is the former junior varsity soccer coach and the current varsity soccer coach.”We had a nice group of incoming freshman as well as some new transfers that have had a huge impact,” Dunn said. “The team is much more confident this year. The team leaders are much more confident. They all have a bounce in their step as they walk through the hallways at school.”They have implemented best practices such as soccer fundamentals to eliminate mistakes, while enhancing communication among team members.”Beyond working the fundamentals that each team needs to be successful, we also focus on communication and team building,” McCluan said.Their accomplishments cannot be attributed to one player – their success is a team effort, he said. “I would watch them all, as each one has learned their position and gets stronger at that position each game and practice,” McCluan said. “We have started a new season. The past is behind, and we look to the future.”
