The Kit Carson Riding Club is hosting eight to 10 gymkhanas on Saturday nights, beginning June 1 through Sept. 28. The competition is open to the public; participants range from small children on horses led by their parents to serious barrel racers. Participants pay $3 per class ($1 discount for KCRC members). There is no charge for spectators. The concession stand is open during the event, which is held at the Kit Carson Riding Club at the southeast corner of Black Forest Road and Cowpoke ñ one block north of Woodmen Avenue in Black Forest. There will be no gymkhanas on the following dates: June 15, July 20, Aug. 8 and Aug. 24, and Sept. 21. Visit http://kitcarsonridingclub.org for more information.
