A Weather King portable buildings dealership opened in March near the High Prairie Library in Falcon. Long-time resident Shana Potts joined the company, and opened the Falcon location after 20 years in the construction business.ìI grew up out here and went to Falcon Elementary, middle school and high school, and my kids go to school here,î said Potts, a Colorado native. Opening the dealership in Falcon allows her to work close to her childrenís schools, she said. There is also a family connection to the Weather King company. ìMy brother hauls the buildings for the company down in New Mexico,î Potts said. After working for two decades in the electrical contractor part of the construction industry, her brother suggested she look into the portable building company. ìI couldn’t stand here and sell the products if I didn’t believe in it,î Potts said. The Falcon lot has several buildings on display, which potential clients can browse through like model homes. ìThey’re models you can go into; and, if there’s one you like, everything on the lot is available,î Potts said. Several other models are available through ordering, she said. While some of the display models look like small cottages inspired by the Tiny House movement, she said they are intended for storage. ìThey are all portable, delivered pre-built and set in place,î Potts said. ìThen, you have storage at your home so you don’t have to drive into town and pay for a storage unit.îShana Potts and the Falcon Weather King dealership welcomes drop-in visitors, and can be reached at 719-645-0084.
