High Country Kids met Feb. 12. Members discussed the Festival of Events scheduled for April 12 at Skyview Middle School as well as the variety of camp possibilities for the year. For a community service project, the 4-H club will participate in the El Paso County Fairgrounds Improvement and Clean-up Days.The El Paso County Fair is scheduled July 19 through July 26.The club will also participate in the annual Barn Clean-up Day on Saturday, July 12. The barn is used to house the goats during the El Paso County Fair.The Goat Quad Show will be held June 7 and June 8 at the fairgrounds, where club members can practice goat showmanship prior to the county fair. The High Country Kids will also be working at the concession stands during the Goat Quad Show. Many families from the club are expecting baby goats in the spring and are getting their barns ready for the new additions.Submitted by Derek Buehner
