Garret Ross is 8 years old and is in third grade at Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning. Garrett said he’s “not so really” excited. “I’m not looking forward to school starting.” However, he’s looking forward to making new friends and seeing old. And what he hopes to learn about this year is “very hard math” and maybe poetry!
A fourth grader at Meridian Ranch Elementary, Tanner Thornton is 9 years old. Tanner’s reply to looking forward to returning to school: an emphatic YES! She, too, is excited to meet new friends, and she is planning to learn “the harder stuff.”
Joe Weis, age 7, and his brother, Chris, age 6 are in second and first grade, respectively, at Woodmen Hills Elementary.Joe was a little ambiguous about being excited for school to start. His reply: hmmmmmm; Chris, however, was a bit more decided: ìNO.îJoe and Chris are both hoping to meet new friends. Joe wants to learn ìstuff about scienceî and this time Chris was ambiguous about what heíll learn. He didnít know, big brother said, ìI sure know lots of things Chris will learn in the first grade.îTURN AROUND, AND THEYíLL BE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!
