News release Nov. 19
Goodwill of Colorado held a grand opening of its newest retail location and donation center at 7520 Falcon Market Place on Nov. 29. The celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a full day of festivities that included free refreshments, prize giveaways and entertainment.
The new Goodwill Falcon store and donation center will create 50 new jobs in the local community. Goodwill of Colorado is committed to fair-chance hiring, providing employment opportunities for individuals re-entering the workforce after incarceration, transitioning from military service or seeking new skills. Sixty-five percent of Goodwill’s retail team members report having faced similar employment barriers at the time they were hired, including Falcon store manager Glenna Stanley, who joined Goodwill after her release from incarceration. She has since built a successful 20-year career with the organization.
“We’re honored to serve the Falcon and Peyton communities with this new Goodwill store and donation center,” said Karla Grazier, Goodwill of Colorado president and chief executive officer. “Our retail locations are a critical part of our mission in local communities. Proceeds from this store will support free, local job training and education programs like our LIFT IT Training, BankWork$ and Digital Skills programs.”
In celebration of the grand opening and in support of local families, Goodwill partnered with Fresh Start Center to host a food donation drive at the new Falcon store from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6. Fresh Start Center serves El Paso County residents experiencing food insecurity by providing food, clothing and essential household resources.
