Golf tournament a big success

The Exchange Club of Falcon hosted its fifth Child Abuse Prevention Charity Golf Tournament at Antler Creek Golf Course in Falcon June 20, with a shotgun start by Andy Conder, club president-elect, and the National Anthem, sung by Shenea Anderson.The foursome of Ross Bowie, Kyle Lahey, Jeremy McCollum and Jeremy Rogers won first place. The tournament, chaired by Bob Miller, was a grand success. Thanks to the 96 participating golfers and the 22 hole sponsors. In addition to the golfersí ìgoodie bags,î at least 86 raffle prizes of gift cards from restaurants to spas and massage salons were available. A silent auction included art, baskets and a pink tourmaline pendant.A big thanks to sponsors: platinum sponsors ñ The Innovative Group, United Life Insurance Co, SERVPRO South, American Insurance Exchange Inc., Stellar Solutions, ASI Insurance Co., and Williams Body & Paint who held a special contest at their office and donated those proceeds as well. Our gold sponsor was State Bank. Other sponsors were Falcon Comfort Dental, Arthurs Auto Body, The New Falcon Herald, Falcon Auto, State Farm, Peak to Peak Transition, Family Eye Care, Palmer Chiropractic, 1st Bank, La Mission Restaurant, Alpine Vision and Al Serra Chevrolet, which donated the hole-in-one 2013 Silverado. Thanks to waitress, Sarah Balboa, who donated all of her tips. The charity funds collected will enable the club to support the community in many ways throughout the following year.
