Gem and mineral show

The Pikes Peak Gem & Mineral Show will be held the weekend of June 7 through June 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Western Museum of Mining and the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society are hosting the event, which is centered on the extraterrestrial rock that crashed through a home in Canon City, Colo. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will present an exhibit on meteorites. Other activities include panning for gold; crystal, gem and jewelry exhibits; working engines; and much more. The cost is $5 for ages 13 and older, and anyone under age 13 gets in free. The address is 225 North Gate Blvd. Call 719-488-0880 for more information.
