September brings change, in many ways. The yellow gold transition of the Aspen trees is an annual spectacular event, bringing lots of people to the higher plains and the mountains. The cooler, crisp autumn evenings remind us that it is time to put the snow tires on.The kids are back in school, family summer vacations have ended and the white shoes have been packed up for the winter (I still canít wear them beyond Labor Day or before Memorial Day).At The New Falcon Herald, we are experiencing some changes, too. Angie Morlan, who has been with us almost since our first full year in business (2005), is leaving. Angie has been an avid supporter and a steady contributor to the newspaper. Weíve seen the changes in her life, too ó one of the highlights was the birth of her son, Christopher. We feel like Christopher, now age 10, has grown up with us. Angie and her husband, Tom, and Christopher are moving to Germany. Tom has been offered a position with his company that they just cannot turn down. The move is a chance, especially for Christopher, to experience a different culture and travel throughout Europe. We will miss Angie, and so will her piano students, her church family and the many friendships she and Tom have developed in the area. They are selling their home in Falcon and expect to be on their way sometime in November.Angieís departure means that she is no longer going to be the reporter for our monthly feature, Face to Face. This is a good time to get your input regarding Face to Face. Do you read this feature? Do you have ideas for improvement or changes? Please contact me or our editor, Marylou, to let us know your thoughts. Meanwhile, we are holding off on Face to Face until we determine its future!Another change has to do with Black Forest. The Black Forest newspaper is no longer being distributed, and we would like to enhance our Black Forest page with more stories and informative articles about the area. We welcome your ideas about expanding into Black Forest, so please get in touch with us. We will be changing our current ìOn the streetî format; instead of randomly choosing people, we will be setting up actual interviews with someone each month. If you have any ideas for people subjects, let us know.It is tough to lose two long-time friends and co-workers in one year ó first, Kathy Hare and now Angie. But life moves on, and I am proud of the team that we currently have. So, good luck to Angie and her family from all of us at the NFH ó and keep in touch.See you in October!– Michelle
