First of all, thank you, Broncos, for winning the Super Bowl — it made our front page photo a joyous sight all month long — at least for Bronco fans.†Last month, we tried a new font size to see if it made the newspaper easier to read. It did, but our new size resulted in cramped space so we tried a different font and a different size this month. I never knew that fonts could be so†complicated. Also, my editor, who is possessed by the newspaper gods and obsessed with style and accuracy, wanted me to apologize for a mistake in the editorís note on the front page last month. We repeated a word and didnít†catch it when we proofed the paper, and that kind of thing torments her!†March is a full month. We have St. Patrickís Day; this year, Easter falls on March 27; we change back to daylight savings time March 13, itís March Madness in college basketball, and many schools are out on spring break.†Spring arrives March 20, and itís a month of sporadic weather patterns, but it seems every month in Colorado is erratic when it comes to the weather. Oh, and I canít forget that this year, March will be a compelling month as the caucuses†and primaries ramp up. So far, the frontrunners in the GOP are Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. And the Democrats have Hilary and Bernie!†It is kind of fun watching the candidates for the presidential race this year. The Democrats have their own issues, but many Republicans are now frantic about derailing Mr. Trump, who appears to be picking up steam. The†media is having a heyday with this battle, and the late-night shows have plenty of fodder for at least the next few months. From my conversations and listening to interviews with voters, I think we the people agree on one thing: ìWeî†are fed up with the same oleí rhetoric that comes from the politicians, and discontented with the lack of progress and cooperation in Congress. If anyone out there disagrees with that statement, please send us a letter.†On a local political level, it often takes a steamroller to get politicians and government employees to talk to us. Read Lindsey Harrisonís article on Kurie Road, which gives strong meaning to ìgetting the run-around!î We shouldnít have to pull teeth to get one comment.†Also, Historical Perspectives is back this month, with a new name: Looking Back! Kathy Wallace writes about a deadly plane crash in Colorado Springs that took place March 3, 1991. And once again, we have an article by Lindsey on wind farm and property values. We are receiving calls from people out of state, who have been involved with wind farm issues in their areas. Weíre not taking a stand on the wind farm, by any means; we are the messenger. Also, we want to know what you like about our newspaper and what you donít like: which columns and sections are your favorite, for example. Do you have ideas or topics for us to cover?†Let us know!†One more event in March that means a lot to me: My first grandchild, Harper, will be a year old March 18. Time moves so fast. Happy spring!See you in April!– Michelle
