Welcome to 2014 and our annual health and wellness issue. We have a lot of information on health issues, from local thoughts on Obamacare to eggs to problems with pharmaceutical recalls. Because we could not fit all of our health care articles, which our writers diligently worked on, in this issue; weíll be expanding our health and wellness section for the next few months! Many people make resolutions, with a start date of Jan. 1, to lose weight, exercise and eat the right foods. Well, perhaps if we bring more health issues to light throughout the year, our New Yearís resolutions will become part of our lifestyle, so stay tuned. If there are any health issues you would like to see addressed in the NFH, let us know. Any ideas from our readers are welcome, and all you have to do is send an email to marylou@newfalconherald.com, and sheíll get back with you.Speaking of health, we are one of the sponsors for the American Cancer Societyís Relay for Life of Falcon/Peyton event, which takes place in June. Last year, 35 teams from the area participated, raising more than $60,000 for the ACS. The planning has already begun for the 2014 relay; the committee meets monthly and is looking for more volunteers. You donít have to go to monthly meetings to volunteer. For more information on how you can help or participate, visit http://falconpeytonrelay.org. Also, watch the newspaper for information and check the website for updates. Weíll also send out email alerts to those on our list.I hope you enjoy this issue, and I wish you good health and a very happy New Year! See you in February.-Michelle
