In January, the New Falcon Herald will celebrate the beginning of year No. 4. It’s been an “amazing race” to be a “survivor” in this crazy business.Surviving any business requires tenacity and knowing when to make the next move. As we’ve previously announced, we are making the next move by adding a mid-month edition to the New Falcon Herald. Please remember our main edition will be on the stands on the first or second of each month. A lighter (at least for now) edition will hit the stands around the 15th of each month. Thus, for those of you who pick up the newspaper please remember that you will have just two weeks between editions. Our first monthly edition will remain the same, except for a couple of changes. We are eliminating the “Limelight” column and focusing on our “Face to Face” column, which will highlight both individual residents and businesses in the area. We are adding a new column under our Health and Wellness section. Dr. Kent Herbert will be writing an “Ask the Doc” column – take your first peek at the column and information on how you can participate.Be sure and check out our mid-month edition where we will introduce another line up of thought-provoking columns. NFH coordinating Editor Kathy Hare will be writing a column highlighting issues that affect the eastern plains and Colorado in general. We also will feature a new column – Prairie Tales – by Peyton writer Tom Preble. Tom has been a regular columnist for the Denver Post; his columns have been syndicated nationally as well. And David Corder, the eastern plains fitness and wellness guru, will be writing a column (recipe included) for our Health and Wellness section in the mid-month edition as well. More on those columns and their authors next edition. In this edition, check out our opinion columns, which cover a variety of topics this month: TV newscasts, water and incorporation efforts. Tell us what you think – write a letter to the editor. As always, we are open to your suggestions and ideas – please let us know what you’d like to see in our new mid-month edition. That’s it for Dec. 1. Remember, we’ll be out again in two weeks, featuring a special section on last-minute holiday shopping ideas in and around Falcon. Thanks for your support!-Michelle & Marylou
