Summer is winding down, as we turn the calendars to August. But the New Falcon Herald is gearing up as we welcome our new sales representative, Jeanne Breisch. Jeanne will cover Colorado Springs for the NFH. She comes to us with more than 10 years of sales experience and a background in consulting, marketing and management. Jeanne also lectures at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. We look forward to working with you, Jeanne. One of our NFH writers is gearing up, too, for a big change in her life. Angie Morlan recently told us that she and her husband, Tom, are expecting their first child in February 2007. Angie and Tom are going to be wonderful parents, and we are excited for them. Congratulations to you both. From time to time, Angie will be writing about her experiences as a first-time mom-to-be.The heat is on this summer (read the Monkey Chronicles). While rising temperatures have created heat waves all over the country, heated tempers here in Falcon have created a need to address those who have attempted to bully us into writing what they deem appropriate, based on their agendas. We are a newspaper, and, although we have fun with columns like Phun Photos, Monkey Business and Rumors, we are serious about bringing in-depth and accurate articles to our readers. We are not operated, persuaded or coerced by special interest groups, business groups, organizations, government, individuals, advertisers, etc.The Monkey Chronicles and any other editorials or letters to the editor represent individual voices. We will not delay or forego an article we are researching because it might jeopardize the efforts of one group. We are in the business of educating and informing our readers. If the truth hurts, we are not to blame. We will not compromise our work ethic and commitment to exposing the truth about any situation. We might be small, but this newspaper isnít a hobby or the town gossip rag. Our product, we believe, reflects professionalism and journalism as it should be.As Falcon continues to grow, we hope that new people are inspired to get involved in the community. We want our newspaper to be a forum for discussion and forward movement. But most of all, we want our readers to be able to sift through the bull and get to the truth.See you in September,-Michelle and Marylou
