Despite the wind (just another day in Falcon), this year’s Falcon Festival was again a success. We enjoyed talking to all of you who stopped by our booth on Saturday, and thanks for completing our survey. If our survey is any indication, it appears that the majority of our readers are interested in seeing the NFH published twice a month. We are working on it, but we need a few things to happen before we make the switch. The winner of our basket give-a-way, which included items from local merchants, was Lance Farmer. We hope you enjoy your gifts from Falcon Physical Therapy, Espresso’s at Stratfords, Farmer Jim’s, Sun Seekers tanning salon, the Mane Salon and Pack, Ship n’ More.We also stopped by the Woodmen Hills Arts and Crafts Fair, which has grown as well. Plenty of vendors with lots of cool items lined the parking lot of the Woodmen Hills Recreation Center West. It’s important to support these community events, so check out “Community Calendar” – a regular feature of the NFH. The Falcon July 4 celebration is just around the corner. Finally, we are pleased to announce that Ashley Fay, a senior at Falcon High School, has joined our team as the sports writer for D 49. Ashley is one of the editors of the school newspaper and a varsity cheerleader – a perfect combination for our sports writer position. Ashley plans to attend a four-year college and major in journalism. She is tossing around career ideas, such as travel writing, television broadcast, editing for a national magazine or writing a column. Whatever she decides, we are excited about helping her achieve her goals. Welcome aboard, Ashley. And thanks, Joe Cole (D 49 community relations), for helping us to get this done!!!OK, on a final note: Please don’t be afraid to contact us every day if necessary if there is a problem with your subscription. We aim to provide excellent customer service, and if we’ve made a mistake, we want to correct it. And if we continue to make the same mistake, we will change the process or terminate it. Again, we apologize for those mistakes.Have a blast this July 4, and be safe, too.- Michelle & Marylou
