Another summer fading into the sunset! Enjoy it while it lasts.School will be starting soon, and we need your help. We’ve mentioned this to the new D 49 superintendent, Steven Hull, too, but it can’t hurt to talk to our readers. Our Falcon sports writer from last year, Ellen Dreyer, is off to college this fall, so we are without a writer to cover high school sports. We know you’d like to see our young athletes get their due, so if anyone has a son, daughter, grandchild, niece, nephew, friend, student who is interested in journalism and would cover the school district, particularly high school sports, please let us know. We’d like to work on an internship program, which would benefit the NFH and the student journalist. We have a full newspaper again this month. We hope you enjoy our August articles on all sorts of topics from organic farming to a new ranch development to eminent domain. The latter has become a hot topic locally and nationally, and we’d love to hear more from you about eminent domain issues – for or against – and any other issue, for that matter.Again, this is YOUR newspaper so please let us know what topics you’d like us to cover or send us your opinion on something we’ve written about or a topic passionate to you. For those who have called with requests for specific topics, please know that our editorial staff is working hard to cover all special interests. That’s it for August. We hope you are having a great summer. The July heat wave prompted thoughts of “how nice it would be if we had a community swimming pool, eh?”-Michelle and Marylou
