The staff at The New Falcon Herald is dedicated to bringing Falcon and surrounding communities timely, accurate news. The news that is reported in the NFH is researched and investigated by a capable and responsible staff. Recently, it has been brought to our attention that someone is posing as a NFH editor. The mysterious impersonator, who identifies himself as Bob Rose, has contacted both a Falcon School District 49 board member and a Falcon Fire Protection District board member regarding supposed articles he is writing for the NFH. In both instances, the communication Rose had with the board members was reckless and rude. We do not know how many others in the community Rose has contacted, but the question has been asked, “Who is Bob Rose?”Yes, Saturday Night Live’s Tina Fey has received chuckles for her impersonation of vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin, but that is all in fun. Impersonating a journalist is unethical and deceptive. The staff of the NFH asks the community to be aware of Rose. The names of the NFH staff are published in each issue. If there is a question regarding a staff member, please contact Stefani Wiest or Michelle Barrette. On a positive note, Tom Morlan, local resident, contributor to the NFH and husband of long-time NFH writer Angie, has recently returned from Iraq. Tom has been in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 18 years. He has served in six extended operations – Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Allied Force, Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraq Freedom. In November 2007, Tom was called up to deploy to Baghdad, Iraq. Although he serves in the U.S. Air Force, he was assigned to do a U.S. Army task. In January, he left for Camp Atterbury in Indiana for a month of training. Two weeks after completing his training, Tom returned to Colorado and began to prepare for his departure to Iraq. He arrived in Iraq shortly before Easter and for the next six months served in Baghdad doing human intelligence.Tom returned home earlier than expected and surprised Angie. He has been home for about a month and has enjoyed spending time with his wife and son and visiting with family and friends. We at the NFH are relieved that Tom has arrived home safe and sound. As the first issue of November hits the stands, remember that the NFH staff understands the importance of delivering accurate and relevant news to local residents. We hope you enjoy this issue.– Stefani, Michelle and the NFH team
