County commissioners approvalsOn Feb. 14, the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners approved a request by Case Holdings to rezone 36.76 acres from limited industrial to commercial regional. The land is located on Woodmen Road between School District 49’s administration building and Mountain View Electric Association’s office building.In addition, the board approved the final plat for Falcon Acres, a 49-acre subdivision consisting of eight single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 5 acres located on the southwest corner of Davis Road and Curtis Road. The developer is Thousand Hills Land & Cattle Company.The board also approved rezoning the Eagleview Estates development from 5 acre rural residential to 2.5 acre rural residential. The development’s preliminary plan was approved and consists of 38 single-family lots located a half mile north of Stapleton Road and east of Raygor Road. Neighbors objected to the requests, citing concerns over emergency exits and traffic on Raygor Road.Planning commission approvalsOn Feb. 5, the El Paso County Planning Commission approved a request by Spring Creek LLC to rezone 76.74 acres at the intersection of Highway 24 and the proposed Stapleton Road extension from 2.5 acre rural residential to a planned unit development with commercial, open space and utility uses.The proposed PUD consists of six lots: 28.65 acres of mixed use commercial, 3.63 acres of commercial, 1.45 acres of office warehouse, 13.4 acres of commercial shopping center, 7.6 acres of professional and medical office, 5.59 acres of neighborhood commercial and 16.42 acres of open space and right-of-way.On Feb. 19, the planning commission approved a request by Apex Ranch Estates LLC to rezone 128 acres from agricultural to a planned unit development district. The PUD proposal is for a maximum of 24 single-family lots. The property is located on the east side of Elbert Road and about a half mile south of Hopper Road. The planning commission also approved the PUD’s preliminary plan.The requests go to the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners for final approval in March.
