Friends of Falcon continues to promote the Falcon area and help preserve its unique identity. To underscore that commitment and to help distinguish the group’s mission as the Falcon area rather than the iconic predatory bird, readers will now sometimes see an added reference to Colorado. That said, a rose by any other name is still a rose, and the group continues its work. Part of that involves outreach, and some readers may have seen Friends of Falcon at Falcon Freedom Days, handing out pamphlets, interacting with local businesses and sharing a booth with member Joyce Crawford, the Falcon-based small business owner of “Can-Do!” jams, jellies, and sauces.
More outreach will occur at the next meeting of Friends of Falcon, which is Saturday, Aug. 10, at JAKs near the corner of Meridian Road and Stapleton Drive beginning at 1 p.m. As always, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided free of charge. Details of the agenda and any guest speakers are not yet finalized, but will be posted to the website (https://TheFriendsOfFalcon.org) once available. And, after this upcoming meeting, the group plans to increase the meeting schedule to every other month to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!
