Helping those who are helping others two photos ñ both submittedHigh Plains Helping Hands Food Pantry, has been helping with the Black Forest Fire relief efforts by providing food and gift cards to families who were affected. In July, Amy Sue Lambert from the Pikes Peak Community Foundation presented Rose Mizer, director of Helping Hands, with a $2,500 grant from the Emergency Relief Fund for the Pikes Peak Region of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation. This grant will help the pantry continue to provide for the relief efforts.Helping Hands is located on the Mountain Springs Church campus near Woodmen and Black Forest roads. Any Black Forest or Eastern Plains families needing assistance should call the pantry at 495-3123.On July 25, Dr. Stephen Kutscher from Rock Solid Chiropractic presented a check for $645 to Mizer, as a result of funds raised at the Falcon Business Expo and 5K Run ñ also sponsored by Rock Solid. The money will be used to help feed the needy in Falcon and the Eastern Plains area.
