Fire district measures on the November ballot

This November, voters in the Falcon and Peyton fire protection districts are being asked to approve mill levy increases for both fire districts, plus the issuance of a bond for the Falcon Fire Protection District. The ballot issues are 5A, 5B, and 5C.

  • 5A proposes to increase the mill levy for the Peyton Fire Protection District by 4.0 mills, which will raise an additional $112,324 annually. If approved, the money will be used to pay for day-to-day operations and maintenance, as well as improving, constructing or acquiring new fire stations and equipment.
  • 5B proposes to increase the mill levy for the Falcon Fire Protection District by 1.98 mills, which will raise an additional $416,000 annually. If approved, the money will be used for operations, maintenance and capital improvements.
  • 5C proposes to increase Falcon Fire Protection District debt by $7,500,000 through the issuance of bonds, raising taxes by $750,000 annually to pay interest on the bonds. If approved, the money will be used to construct new fire stations in Claremont Ranch and Woodmen Hills, renovate the existing Black Forest Reserve station, build a new administration and training center and purchase equipment.
