On Aug. 8, Colorado Springs Fire Department Battalion Chief Jesse Ortiz presented the CSFD Battalion Chief Commendation to Falcon Fire Protection District firefighters: Lt. Sean Tafoya, firefighters Steve Blickenstaff, Kevin Janes, Nick Koory, Trace Reeves, and Matt Seube. The award recognized their ìoutstanding service and extraordinary efforts to the citizens of Colorado Springs during the Waldo Canyon Fire.îOrtiz also presented FFPD with the CSFD Donald R. Hekkers Community Service Award for its ìextraordinary efforts, contributions to the community and service to others during the Waldo Canyon Fire.î
