Samantha Morris took over the existing Farmers Insurance Agency at 7119 McLaughlin Road in Falcon in February. Farmers offers auto, home, renters, business, condominium and life insurance.
Prior to joining Farmers, Morris had six years of insurance experience with other companies. She said when she was deciding to become an owner, she wanted to intern under an experienced owner. Farmers offers a protégé program. “I interned under another Farmers agent for several months and then graduated and took over my own agency.”
Providing timely personal service is a priority for Morris. Besides herself, there are two other licensed professionals in the office who are trained to do everything she can do for the customer. “They are there to make sure that no matter what they need, someone is here,” Morris said. The agency welcomes face-to-face contact with customers. “A lot of the industry has gone away from that, but I’m finding in this community a lot of people value coming in person and sitting down with me.”
Building relationships in the community is important to Morris. “I truly love building long lasting relationships with my clients and taking the time to learn what is important to them.” Educating her clients is important to her. “Anyone can go online and get a quote but do they understand the differences in coverage? I want people to understand what they’re buying and feel confident that they are protected,” she said. “You can’t get that from a 1-800 number.” When it comes to claims, Morris handles the process for her customers, saving them time.
Morris moved to Banning Lewis Ranch three years ago with her husband and three sons. “We moved here to give our kids a life they couldn’t get in California,” Morris said. “In California, we didn’t live in a neighborhood with sidewalks and parks and places for our kids to ride their bikes. Here we live in a great community with good schools. We love getting to know our neighbors.”
Morris’ husband, Karl, recently opened Morris Motors & RV on the same property as the Farmers Insurance agency. The family enjoys camping, off-roading and paddle boarding in their free time.
The Farmers Insurance Agency is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-in customers are welcome. After-hours and Saturdays are available by appointment by calling 719-599-3276.
