Falcon teen to compete in pageant

Nicole Garcia, daughter of Rico and Debbie Garcia of Falcon, competed in the Nationals’ Miss Junior Teen Denver Pageant in August. (Because of the NFH deadline, we’ll report the results in October.)Nicole is a freshman honor student at Falcon High School. She attended Barbizon School of Modeling, and also has been active in girl scouts, school drama productions and school sports. Nicole enjoys working with animals, modeling, and writing poetry, and she plans to attend veterinary school.The National’s, with 140 girls competing from Colorado, includes casual and formal wear competitions and one interview question. The top-10 finalists will be asked an additional interview question. Seven girls will receive $1,000 scholarships and advance to the “Cities of America” National Pageant in Orlando, Fla.”I’d like the experience of being in the pageant, and I’d like to represent Colorado in the Cities pageant,” Nicole said. “I’d also like to meet new friends and probably gain more self-confidence … I think this would help.”
