After laying low and recovering from Covid lockdowns, Falcon Senior Services has returned with a new board and energizing ideas to help Falcon area seniors. The new board consists of Chair Lynne Bliss, Co-chair Gary Miller, Secretary Roxanne Pool, Treasurer Jahna Badger, Sunshine Chair Judy Laurie, Programs Chair Robbin Bartellano, Programs Co-chair Sherry Hermann, At-large Thom Pool.
The Facebook page — Falcon Senior Services — is up and running, providing information about upcoming meetings, exchanging ideas and posting funny memes about aging.
More than 50 people attended both the February and March meetings held at the Patriot Learning Center gymnasium (11900 Swingline Road). The school’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality students provided the meals. Payment for the food comes from the $3 collected at the door for each person.
The programs committee has been busy with programs for area seniors such as chair yoga. A Fun Activity Day is planned for April 17 at the High Plains Library. Four tables of activities will be available: cards, crafts (rock painting), dominoes and an open table (bring your own craft, knit, crochet or another card game). Plans are also in the works for a summer potluck picnic.
The free seniors exercise class continues on Mondays and Fridays 11 a.m. to noon at the Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church Dr. in Falcon.
