Colorado native Bonne Bartron recently debuted her first book, ìWhispers,î and it quickly became No. 1 on Amazon in the satirical thriller category. The story takes place in Florida: a dream family vacation in Orlando turns into a nightmare when an 8-year-old niece is kidnapped from their Airbnb.Although the novel is set in Florida, the cover art is a photograph shot in Colorado at the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs. And the photographer for the cover art is The New Falcon Herald photographer, Cara Lord-Geiser.Lord-Geiser and Bartron have known each other a long time, and they have stayed in contact via Facebook. They both attended the same high school in Woodland Park and participated in the same sports. Bartronís family still lives in Colorado.Bartron is not only a novelist but also an actress and screenwriter, Lord-Geiser said. She said Bartron lives in Los Angeles now, but a piece of her heart is still in Colorado.Bartron offered Lord-Geiser an opportunity to shoot the cover; this was the photographerís first-ever book cover. ìBoth BonnÈ and I were thrilled to have a historical location that was an important piece of our childhood roots included in this new journey for both of us,î Lord-Geiser said. For more information on ìWhispers,î visit https://whispersbooks.com
