Falcon Freedom Days returned to Meridian Ranch on July 2. At least 2,000 people showed up to enjoy activities such as the 5K run, a bike and stroll parade, a petting zoo, a DJ, booths and bounce houses, live music in the evening and then the traditional fireworks. The event was held at the Shops of Meridian Ranch and the fireworks show was moved to a new location north of the high school and adjacent to Eastonville Road. The new location afforded plenty of parking, an excellent view and allowed Falcon Fire Department to have fire protection vehicles on hand. The annual fireworks expense is $28,000, and the spectacular display did not disappoint the crowd.Ryan Kozlowski, recreation operations manager at the Meridian Recreation Center, credited the Meridian Service Metropolitan District, the Meridian Ranch developer (GTL, Inc.) and Antler Creek Golf Course for helping with Falcon Freedom Days.
