FIRE DEPT STATSFirefighter Matt Gibbs explained the following categories:
- Good intent calls: The fire department often intercepts calls from individuals alerting them to a traffic accident, smoke, a road hazard, etc. When the firefighters arrive, the problem is non-existent at the time.
- Hazardous calls are associated with, for example, hazardous materials, carbon monoxide alarms and gas leaks.
- Medical and emergency calls refer to heart attacks, diabetic emergencies, breathing problems, strokes, etc.
