On Feb. 17, Dale and Leonore Misner of the Falcon Exchange Club community service committee and club president Jan Pizzi presented Audrey MacDonald with a certificate of appreciation and a sweatshirt. MacDonald, who served in the Women’s Army Corp., donated clothing, equipment for the disabled, curtains, cloth for quilting and two sewing machines. The donated material is being made into quilts that will eventually go to distressed children. Boy Scout Troop 149 held a Winter Court of Honor in February. The Exchange Club of Falcon was included in the ceremony, and Joseph Bauer, past president and youth committee chairman, presented recognition plaques and savings bonds to four young men who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2008. Ryan Peterson joined the Boy Scouts in 2002, entered the Order of the Arrow in 2005 and received his Eagle rank in February 2008. For his Eagle project, Ryan repainted fire hydrants in reflective yellow paint. James Tedeschi joined the Boy Scouts in 2001, entered the Order of the Arrow in 2004 and received Eagle rank in February 2008. James built 200 feet of buck and rail fencing at a forest fire training area for his Eagle project.William “Tripp” Bishop joined the Boy Scouts in 2002, entered the Order of the Arrow in 2003 and was awarded his Eagle rank in September 2008. For his Eagle project, William built art easels for occupational and speech therapists to use in their programs.William Neal joined the Boy Scouts in 2002, entered the Order of the Arrow in 2006 and was awarded his Eagle rank in September 2008. William built two large Smokey Bear Fire Danger signs for the U.S. Forest Service for his Eagle project.
