The Falcon Area Issues Roundtable held its first meeting July 21 at the Falcon Fire Protection District station in Falcon.School District 49 Superintendent Nancy Wright and El Paso County Commissioner Douglas Bruce were among the 15 people who attended. John Seech, president of the Meadows Subdivision Homeowners Association, directed the first meeting and discussed the type of format FAIR organizers hoped to implement.FAIR is a forum for people to gather and discuss issues and concerns – positive and negative – and determine ways to approach problems or questions. “We are looking for people from all sides of the issues to attend so we can get an understanding of where people are coming from,” Seech said. “We are not looking for someone to show up and complain – then expect someone else to take care of their problems for them.”Guest speakers – government and business – will be invited, depending on the desires of the community.”We want to know how we as a community can solve our own problems,” Seech said. FAIR organizers are working on a Web site, a mission statement and a permanent schedule. The Web site will provide links to other community or government sites. The next meeting is Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Falcon Fire Station.
