Eastern Plains Chamber of CommerceThe chamber held its monthly meeting Sept. 3. Bylaw amendment votes originally scheduled for the August meeting were completed. The amendments, which shortened terms of office for board members, clarified positions and reduced the requirements for candidates; passed by vote of the paid membership. Nominations will be accepted for president and secretary at the October meeting, said Ben Kley, chairman of the board. Elections for the two positions will be held at the November meeting.Col. Damon Feltman, commander of the 310th Space Wing Air Force Reserve, spoke at the September meeting about the increasing importance of the reserves in the U.S. Air Force and the economic impact of the space wing and the reserves on the Pikes Peak region. The 310th, based at Schriever Air Force Base, is the only space wing within the reserves.The next meeting is Oct. 1 at 7 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Falcon.LnB Connectors’ B.E.E.R.The networking group used a ìhot seatî process to help four of the group’s members improve their networking speeches. The other attendees were able to help the members focus on personal and business anecdotes that would create relationship-building with customers and prospects.Lilla Whitehead of Shaklee natural nutrition supplements and beauty products became a member during September.The B.E.E.R. group has moved their meetings to Antler Creek Golf Course; meeting times remain the same: every Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.Falcon PEPNetThe PEPNet chapter in Falcon has completed progress reports on the benefits of networking. The group’s focus has returned to helping build each other’s businesses, said Art Pierson, chapter president. ìWe’ve been really productive the last three weeks,î Pierson said. ìWe’ve had a bunch of new members and guests.
