Exchange Club

On Aug. 25, Falcon Exchange Club members sponsored a barbecue for the staff and residents of the Children’s ARK, a therapeutic treatment center east of Woodland Park, Colo. The members cooked hot dogs and hamburgers that were accompanied by side dishes. The ARK can accommodate 60 males and 27 females from the ages of 10 to 19. The residents are referred from agencies like the El PasoCounty Department of Human Services and mental health agencies. The ARK offers many programs, including alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse and mental health disorders. Based on the club’s experience with the ARK, the club will probably adopt the agency as part of the Exchange Club’s national project: child abuse prevention.Members meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Grill in Latigo Trails. For more information, contact Joe Bauer at 262-9222 or Chuck Burnett at 749-0507 or visit www.falconexchangeclub.com.
