There was nary a parking spot left on Sat., March 12 at the Shops at Woodmoor, home to the newest Ent Federal Credit Union service center.A sizeable crowd enjoyed camaraderie, prizes, soft drinks and pizza, compliments of Domino’s, and face painting for the kids at the grand opening celebration. Charles Emmer, the president and chief executive officer of Ent, was the master of ceremonies, which included a presentation to interim D 49 School Superintendent Dr. Ron Wynn, a recognition of long-standing Ent members in the Falcon area and a ribbon cutting ceremony.Dr. Wynn, an Ent member, accepted a $5,000 check from Ent on behalf of the school district. “I wish it was $77 million,” he joked. And that got a laugh out of the audience who knew that Wynn was referencing the school bond that did not pass last fall. Wynn, grateful for the $5,000, welcomed Ent to the Falcon community.James Stewart, the chairman of Ent Federal Credit Union, talked about how excited the credit union is to have a presence in Falcon. “There is a lot of growth out here,” he said. “It’s a wonderful area, with great views of Pikes Peak and a rural feeling at the same time.”Emmer introduced Falcon residents who had been members of Ent Federal for more than 40 years: Tina Bradley, Simon and Connie Benavidez and Nicholas and Beverly Ordon. Nicholas Ordon said Ent must have followed him on purpose. Ordon joined Ent Federal when it was housed in a one-story wooden out building on Union near the Olympic Training Center. Ordon worked downtown at the former Chidlaw Building, and Ent Federal eventually opened a branch one story above his office. Ordon also worked on occasion at Peterson Field, and Ent opened a branch there as well. “Now they are in Falcon,” he said. “They must like my money.”During the grand opening week, Ent Federal also matched the first $20 deposited when children 12 years of age or younger opened savings accounts. The Ent Federal center, which opened for business on March 1, offers a complete line of credit union member services including consumer and business banking, consumer and mortgage lending and a CO-OP NetworkÆ ATM with 24-hour access.Ent Federal Credit Union is the leading financial institution in the Pikes Peak Region with more than $1.7 billion in assets and 160,000 members. Ent Federal provides a full range of financial services through 19 service centers, online and telephone banking, a call center and a mortgage loan center. Ent Federal is a community-chartered credit union.
