Michelle Barrette, owner and publisher of the NFH, and Deb Stumpf, managing editor, are preparing for a big change in their lives. Their daughters are graduating from high school: Michelle’s youngest and Deb’s only child. When fall comes around this year and college classes begin, they’ll join a growing segment of baby boomers: the empty nesters. They will be free to go to lunch whenever, go to dinner with their husbands whenever and/or take a weekend trip whenever.Oh, but wait, oh yea, there’s college tuition. Well, enjoy eating at home and watching T.V. whenever. And congratulations and all the best to Laura and Emily!Laura BarretteLaura Barrette, daughter of Michelle and John Barrette, is graduating from Lewis Palmer High School in a few weeks, with plans to enjoy the summer before heading to college this fall. The NFH will lose a valued and loyal employee; Laura has restocked the newsstands and labeled subscriptions ever since the paper was first published. And Laura is the last of the Barrette clan, so there is no one to follow in her footsteps. The NFH says good-bye to nepotism forever (it was great while it lasted).Laura has known for a long time that she wants to teach school, so she will attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley this fall. Thanks, Laura, for all your hard work for the NFH, and we wish you much happiness and success!Emily StumpfDeb and Jeff Stumpf will soon experience the upside down emotions associated with a first born graduating from high school. Their oldest and only daughter Emily will graduate from Palmer Ridge High School in a few weeks. Emily plans to attend college, but as of press time, she hasn’t made that final commitment to a college. She will be majoring in communications. The NFH will lose another helper. Emily has restocked newsstands for the NFH, as well as supported her mom during deadline week, when an editor turns into a werewolf. So, thanks, Emily, for your contributions. Enjoy college life, and we wish you all the best.
