Quillan Edwards, age 18, has been crowned the El Paso County Fair Queen. She is the daughter of Brett and Kelly Edwards of Colorado Springs. Quilland graduated from St. Maryís High School in 2015, and is currently a freshman at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where she is pursuing a major in psychology. Quillan†plans on continuing her education by earning a masterís degree in psychology, and giving back to veterans. ìRehabilitation and support are critical to the future success of these veterans,î Quillan said.During her time in high school Quillan participated in varsity cheerleading at both Air Academy and St. Maryís.†She was team captain on various Irish dance teams, and competed in solo and team competions at the local, state and national levels. †She has also been an intern with Ducyís Horse Training at Latigo, and competed in horse shows in the area. Quillan won ribbons and high point awards at the†Latigo Winter Buckle Series. She is currently interning at Colorado Equine Vet Services. ††The 2016 El Paso County Fair is July 16-23 in Calhan.
