Freezing temperatures outside did not deter 74 kids from jumping into the pool at Woodmen Hills Recreation Center on Sunday, March 24, to fetch eggs from the bottom of the pool. The first-ever Easter Egg Dive was held last year, and 58 kids participated.Shelly Shuck, aquatics director, said they used ìsinkingî eggs, which means the eggs had to be filled before they could be tossed into the pool. ìWe didnít take into account the eggs having to be filled and sunk, so we got started a little late,î Shuck said. About 40 dozen eggs were floating on top or sinking, she said. After the kids retrieved their eggs from the pool and turned them in, they received prizes of stickers, a small toy or candy.
