Dogs take a dip

Woodmen Hills held the first-ever Pooch Paddle Sept. 8. Owners paid $5 per dog for their pets to enjoy a splash in the Woodmen Hills Community Center West’s outdoor pool.Shelly Shuck, Woodmen Hills aquatic director, said 50 dogs participted in the event.”This is such a great turnout,” Shuck said. “We will definitely be doing this again next year.”Shuck said the event brought in $276.10 and proceeds will be given to National Mill Dog Rescue in Peyton.
