The Double El Conservation District is offering trees at discounted prices with two different tree programs.Large container trees, such as some evergreen species, tall deciduous species and fruit trees will be available in 1 gallon to 5 gallon containers at prices ranging from $9 to $44. Delivery will be in Simla, Colo., April 9. The deadline to order large container trees is March 8.Seedling trees are provided by the Colorado State Forest Service in Ft. Collins, Colo., and delivered to Simla April 9. The program offers trees at production costs to landowners who own 2 or more acres and intend to use the trees for conservation purposes, such as windbreaks, wildlife habitats, erosion control, reforestation and/or noise and dust control. Deciduous trees are available in bareroot stock of 50 per bundle at a cost of $42 per bundle (19 deciduous shrub species and 12 tall deciduous trees). Conifers are in regular potted stock of 30 per box at a cost of $52 per box (six conifer species) and small potted stock of 30 per box at a cost of $32 per box (five conifer species.).
