According to a WalletHub study, Colorado Springs ranks No. 7 among 100 large cities in the U.S. as one of the most caring cities. Criteria used ranged from the ìhomelessness rate to percentages of income donated to charity to special education teachers per capita.î See the full report here.Colorado also came in at No. 5 among 51 states in the category of happiest states in the country. Utah came in at No. 1 and West Virginia was the unhappiest state at No. 51.The world’s largest natural hot springs pool is in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The two-block long pool is across the street from the historic Hotel Colorado, a favorite stop of former president Teddy Roosevelt.Fort Garland was the first U.S. Army base in Colorado. It was set up in 1858, and controlled by Kit Carson.There are almost 20 rivers in Colorado that have their origins in the state. The Continental Divide regulates the itinerary of every river.
