With an emphasis on accounting, e-commerce and business law; students in Falcon School District 49 will have the chance to participate in a new Finance Academy. The academy will be available for the first time in the 2010-11 school year; middle school students enrolled in the district are eligible to apply. The District 49 Finance Academy is located at Falcon High. The school is working in conjunction with the National Academy Foundation in New York City, as it continues to develop programs for the academy.In addition to core high school classes and electives, the four-year Finance Academy will focus on business subjects, including entrepreneurship, economics, marketing and computers. Students also will have a chance to participate in a paid service-learning experience.For more information about the academy, visit www.d49.org.
