Curves benefit for Helping Hands Food Pantry

Falcon/Peyton Curves and the Exchange Club of Falcon are partnering for this year’s Curves Food Drive.During the month of March, Curves fitness franchises conduct food drives worldwide. In the past decade, Curves franchises have collected and distributed more than 50 million pounds of food for local food banks. Curves of Falcon/Peyton has participated for the past five years.The goal this year is 10,000 pounds – double the 2007 goal. All donations benefit the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Falcon and are considered charitable contributions.As an extra incentive, women who donate a bag of groceries pay only $30 for a Curves membership fee.Donations may be dropped off at Curves, 7663 McLaughlin Road between March 3 and March 15.The Helping Hands Food Pantry needs the following items:

  • Canned foods, such as meat, tuna, soup, vegetables, tomato sauce and fruit
  • Pasta and potato items, such as rice, macaroni and cheese, rice and pasta mixes
  • Cereals, pancake mixes and syrup
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Hygiene items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, shampoo, deodorant, soap
  • Sugar-free foods for diabetics
  • Snacks, such as crackers, chips, pretzels, popcorn, nuts, granola bars and fruit roll-ups
  • Beverages
  • Baking items
  • Condiments
  • Paper items, such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissues
  • Cleaning items, such as laundry detergent, dish soap and multi-purpose cleaners
