The El Paso County Board of County Commissioners approved two appointments to the Emergency Services Agency. Fountain Mayor Jeri Howells, who also served four terms as county commissioner for District 4, was appointed as the “municipal elected official outside the city of Colorado Springs,” according to the news release. Jeffrey Wanderscheid was appointed. He fills the city resident position and certified EMT/paramedic position. He has been a member of the Colorado Springs Fire Department for eight and a half years.The ESA ensures collaboration, coordination and cooperation among all emergency medical response teams and the transport systems for El Paso County, the city of Colorado Springs and other municipalities within the county.The next meeting of the ESA is scheduled for Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. It will be held in the El Paso County commissioners’ hearing room on the third floor at 27 East Vermijo Ave.
