District 49 to host budget meeting – Feb. 23Have you ever wondered why all the new homes and businesses in the Falcon school district don’t automatically correspond to new schools? Have you ever wondered where and on what the school district spends both local and state resources?If so, administration hopes you’ll attend a “Budget Presentation” on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at the central office – 10850 E. Woodmen Road, Falcon. This presentation is not aimed at introducing next year’s specific budget. Instead, it is intended to answer many of the common questions we hear from community members and to explain in general terms where the resources come from and how they are utilized.Doug Bruce holds public forumA public town hall meeting will be held Saturday, Jan. 29 at the new Stetson Hills Police Station (Powers Bl. to Barnes Rd. then east to Tutt Bl., turn right). It will begin at 10 a.m. sharp. Free coffee and pastries will be served. Media membershave also been invited. No RSVP is needed.See the Douglas Bruce Reports in this edition for more information on the town hall meeting.Falcon Professional Development LeagueThe next Falcon Professional Development League meeting is Wed., Feb. 2 at 7:30 a.m. at the Falcon Fire Protection District building on the corner of McLaughlin Road and Highway 24. Speaking at the next meeting are representatives from Protect Our Wells. The FPDL is a voice for the business community and provides an opportunity for networking with other business owners and colleagues.
